MUSEUM ON THE COUCH

Museum on the Couch 3.0

Participants of the module "Museum on the Couch - Reflexive Interventions in Anthropology" present their installations, interventions, and performances in the permanent exhibitions of the GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde in Leipzig. The project offers an interactive space for students to engage with the problems faced by contemporary ethnographic museums, both theoretically and practically.

The exhibition runs from 24th June until 15th October.

On Wednesdays and on weekends at 3pm, participants give tours. Those who wish to explore the exhibits on their own may identify them by a red dot.

August 06-08, 12-08, 13-08, 19-08, 20-08, 26-08, 27-08

September 02-09, 03-09, 06-09, 09-09, 10-09

 

 

Summer School “Seeing the Self through the Lens of the Other”

We invite post-graduate students enrolled in a Master's program in the social sciences or humanities at the University of Leipzig as well as Halle and Jena to apply for a Summer School titled "Seeing the Self through the Lens of the Other."
The summer school will take place from 03 to 12 July 2017 and will earn students a credit of 10 ECTS.

Deadline for applications is 15 May 2017.

Indology Lecture Series in the Summer Term

The Institute for Indology and Central Asian Studies hosts a lecture series in the summer term. The program and further information are available for download HERE. The lectures take place on Tuesdays, 5-7 o'clock, in Schillerstraße 6, room S102. Everyone is welcome!
